Vernon Street Apartments

A deco-inspired facelift for an tired apartment building

The owner of this 50 unit apartment building wanted to approve its appearance but had only a modest budget for the project. To meet his needs we developed a series of additions to the façade that could be attached without major structural involvement. The design addressed the long, plain façade by adding a new central entry “tower” consisting of deco-styled columns and patterned details. Curved awnings were also added along the building façade to provide dimension as well as shade from the afternoon sun. The project was finished with new landscaping and removal of block walls that kept the building shut off from the street.
