The Office: Berkeley Co-Working Space
A locally owned co-working community crafted for Berkeley read more...
Cal graduates and clients Kate and Casey McEachern know the local Berkeley community well and wanted to permeate that community feeling into their version of a coworking space. Within the 6,000 SF space we created a multitude of different working environments (private offices, long communal desks, cafe seating, conference rooms and cozy nooks and telephone booths), with a modern color palette. During the space planning process, Studio KDA provided profitability metrics for rentable shared desk space vs. private office space. To provide flexibility in use of the space, we designed private offices that can later be converted to team offices or conference rooms.
Oakland’s Local Language fabricated the hanging geometric ceiling elements and Kate herself built the bathroom sink console.
