Rebuilding an old home for a modern family read more...

This early 20th century home was well-located, retained some of its original architectural elements and was set on a large, quiet parcel. The building, however, needed a complete overhaul to make it a desirable home for a modern family. The project goals included restoring the original coved ceilings, renovation of the central wood stair and balustrade, a new modern kitchen, new dormers to enlarge the second floor, and a second story master suite. Using the existing architectural elements as inspiration, new features were added to provide seating, storage, and decorative elements. Access to the rear yard was also enhanced to connect to a new outdoor kitchen, teak deck and hot tub, patio and garden beds.
