At the heart of Burma Love in Menlo Park is a bar that sets the tone for the entire dining experience. A glowing gold ceiling hovers above, referencing the 2,600 year old golden Shwedagon Pagoda stupa in Yangon, casting a warm glow over the space.
Below it, a custom back bar crafted in hand-painted wood features a striking peacock feather graphic — a nod to Burma’s national bird and a recurring motif throughout the design. The backdrop is a Roman clay wall finish, offering a tactile counterpoint to the bar’s refined detailing. Together, these elements create a sense of both elegance and soul.
A glowing communal table with a backlit resin “river” offer modern, tactile focal points.
Traditional Burmese design elements appear throughout in refined, contemporary form: turned wood columns, soft arches, and warm gold sconces. Custom murals celebrate Burmese culture — from dancers and landmarks to the scallop logo, inspired by peacock plumage. A hallway wrapped in custom mural art by Lux Create traces Burma’s historical and cultural legacy, creating a layered, immersive environment.
