Sphere Co-Working

Oakland, CA
This 8,500sf co-working space was designed by women for women (although diversity and inclusivity are founding principles so all genders are welcome). Occupying the third floor of a historic building next to the Downtown Oakland BART, the founders wanted to create a Moroccan-inspired urban oasis with a soothing color palette, lots of greenery, and rich, succulent materials.

Programmatically the space is rich with amenities, including a massage/treatment room, a podcast studio, a fitness studio with daily yoga and cardio classes, and individual Peloton bikes. The communal kitchen and working cafe doubles as the event space.

“We wanted to create a space that is warm and welcoming for diverse women from this city and its surroundings; a place where we can come together and feel inspired to work, work out, grow, and replenish, all under one roof.” — Signy Judd, Sphere cofounder (quoted in Architectural Digest)
